Beneath the Zombie Sky, Undead Dogs and Cats

Sometimes I want to post something that doesn’t go with the Illustration Friday topic. So I have to create a new thing that combines the thing I wanted to post with the weekly topic. Today I wanted to post the zombie cats and dogs I made this weekend for the Halloween-a-thon at illustratedatcs.com.

But the word at Illustration Friday is sky. So, I fooled around in paint.NET and ended up with the Infected Pet Kennel, giving guided tours nightly during a green zombie sky.

Zombie Dog and Zombie Gearhead Dog
Each 2.5″ x 3.5″ Copics, fine liners, white gel pen, white pencil

I am not a zombie person but I thought I would do one because people seem to like zombies a lot! And I thought, well maybe a dog zombie. Anyway, as you may have guessed it was super fun and then I made some more. :)

Each 2.5″ x 3.5″ Copics, fine liners, white gel pen, white pencil

And then I couldn’t even trade them. But I am going to make a print of the four of them. And I am thinking about a metallic ACEO print set (my first)!

Your posts always bring me a smile, Cindy! These guys are great! I would have thought a steampunk pilot would be in your sky realm. You are the queen of steampunk, after all! Great post!

Haha, thank you. I’m not sure what I would have done if I didn’t have zombies beasts to post. :)

Excellent Zombie Beasties! I know what you mean about warming up to zombies. I’ve never been able to watch a whole lot of horror movies in general (I already have too many nightmares!) but for some strange reason I’ve always loved the imagery nonetheless.

I love the way these guys are truly creepy yet retain their decorative edge…

Kind of sick, cindy, but I love it!!!! Would not want to meet any of those guys on a dark night! (Not without a flamethrower, anyway – that would be my weapon of choice. Not exactly sure why, but I’d feel a bit safer with it) Like how you made it work for IF, too!

Infected Pet Kennel night tours?! Haha, LOVE the tag-line!! I wouldn’t be taking that tour without a stake, a silver bullet, ahhh….I’m not sure what zombie dogs are taken down with.

Great scars, sneers, broken ears and metal gears.
They’re kind of like crazy zombie dog robots.
    Creeeeeepy.

Haha, me too, which is why I never thought I would do zombies. And I probably still wouldn’t do people-zombies. But who knows!

Thanks so much for all the nice comments! My only concern is that someone stumbling on this blog for the first time might think I am a zombie-fiend. Nope. Mostly cute happy stuff around here. :)

Love the zombie dogs, from a non-zombie person as well. They look both appropriately grisly and upbeat and lively as well, and it works!
I also love the 100 Maidens project and your Steampunk maiden. Very inspiring!!

Cindy, what has happened!!! I go away for two months and you join the undead? Nice idea having dog zombies, indeed – why doesn’t someone do a movie about that? Fido of the Dead. I await your next move breathlessly.
Thank you for your comment a few weeks ago. I did send you a reply, but used an old email address…

Gorgeous undead……wonderful for the season of zombies and monsters. I love this series and a metallic print would be perfect!! Would love to see these on a flag to put in the yard.
