It is day 3 of 29 Faces, and this painting took all three of those days. I hope you’re not sick of these two dogs. They’ve actually changed quite a bit since I first posted them. And now they are done. (Or at least, this is where I’m stopping.)

Rocco and Harmony, Their Fifth Anniversary
12″ x 12″ acrylics on wrapped canvas

Also submitted for the topic “Exotic” at Illustration Friday. Harmony is from Hawaii, which is intensely exotic as far as Rocco is concerned. (He’s from the Midwest.)

Here you can see the changes. On day two I refined the left dog, and on day three, the right.

Wonderful painting! I want to give them snuggles! Love the progression shots. Always nice to have insight into the artist’s process.

What a difference a day makes. The dogs have so much depth and life to them now, love all the detail and that background really pops. The eye progression is rather neat as well.

Yes, now they are finished. They have grown in their selfs. Good, better best! You are the master of eyes! Harmony has a real exotic tiara!

Love those dogs. Yes, there is a big difference. The painting looks a lot more finished now that it is finished. LOL! Beautiful work.

I REALLY LOVE this piece. So many wonderful details….like the pattern on their noses.

A GREAT VALENTINE DUO, CINDY. I love the dog on the left’s eyes in # 2 the best though. To me he REALLY looks like a love sick puppy in that version. :-D Another challenge already, are you CRAZY!?
