Monochromatic Art Cards and MOOs in Pen and Ink

The Pinkerton Pet Detectives

Lots of monochromatic mini art happened recently! You may recall the purple ATCs posted previously. The above are the Pinkerton Detectives. Their motto? “No Collar Too Small”. (Thank you Bert for providing the clever catch phrase!) And below, the first two MOOs for my blue set – a Calavera maiden created as one then cut in two. She is Maiden number 78! The MOOs are for a monochromatic MOOs swap at illustratedatcs.com.

And finally, two yellow ATCs for the full size card swap. Of course, a full size ATC is still just 2.5″ x 3.5″.

Yellow was a bit rough, but adding brown helped. Also, I have almost zero experience with glass and transparent liquids! But it’s not too bad. I think the shrunken head saves it. (The prompts for each of the above were “mother child creature” and “Martinis with something atypical on toothpicks”.)

In addition, I still owe many cards, to people and for swaps. Possibly even to one or more of you reading this post! I haven’t forgotten! I get on a kick (say, monochromatic cards) and then end up doing a whole bunch in one fell swoop. (Did you know that phrase was one of hundreds first seen in Shakespeare? First that we know of, at any rate.)

Thanks for visiting!

I’d have the Pinkerton Pet Detectives working for me in a flash, they look so determined. The motto, hilarious! Can’t believe you got all that detail for each one in a 1″ width. I think you have the martini glass spot on. I love monochromatic drawings and yours are no exception.

OMG….love the yellow bison mother & baby. They are adorable. The monochromatic dogs/cats are super too…..I like all your monochromatic ones.

Have you considered doing a themed calender…..can probably self publish w Lulu.com? You can publish a gorgeous 12 month or even engagement calender.

HI Cindy!! haha…. I love the shrunken head in the cocktail glass. Nice challenge of the liquid in the glass, successfully met I’d say! Gotta push yourself. And the Pinkerton Detectives really look like they’re onto it. Thanks for coming by and your comments – I am not widget-savvy, but I promise to visit your blog whenever I manage to get something onto mine in future (happens less and less often). Keep on rocking, steampunker!

Lilah and her mum are adorable (I love how you managed to get the background so light, it’s perfect) but the detectives are just wow! They look so vintage to me, like from the old B&W detective movies.

Girl, you have it going ON! Black and white or blue or yellow, doesn’t matter. These are great! I have a special place in my heart for black and white, by the way. I love your Pinkerton Detectives. Cats and Dogs. See? Why can’t we all just get along? :)
