Notes from the Sick Room, Day 6:  The bugs think they are winning, but they are not. I will outlive you, tiny hellions! The worst is I feel better in the afternoons, but then the evening and morning are sucky again. Arrgh! Perhaps one benefit to getting sick is to have empathy for others when they get sick. Which I will. Because this is SUPER SUCKY. But I do like my beehive steampunk lass (progess pics below)!

More Faces, Soulful Beasts in Colored Pencil

So I don’t have the plague but I do have a terrible head cold. Going on Day 4. Ugh! Even so, I have managed this Jackalope, which was requested by someone at illustratedatcs.com.

I apologize if you have come to my site and gotten an error message. It has been happening much too frequently. I have just done a bunch of updates but if that doesn’t work, I shall have to move to a new host. If so, I hope it’s not a terrible mess! I prefer to be making art!

I started this Fancy Bontebok last September and finally added some color. But I am now behind in the 29 Faces Challenge because I spent the weekend at Capricon, a sci-fi and fantasy fandom convention in Illinois. Mostly I hung out in the Art Show and volunteered to help as needed. I took in a few panels, including a very fun round robin art activity run by Karen Ann Hollingsworth, a recently discovered favorite artist.

The convention thing is really a different world. And honestly, not everyone is as friendly as you would expect, which just proves I suppose that people can be cliquey wherever you go. But mostly, very friendly!

Finished the geisha I started in the last post. I thought about darkening the hair but didn’t want to mess with it further!

Loris and Nu were created for an “otherworldly people and their pets” theme. This is sort of what happens when I try to do a full figure. Fortunately it’s an alien so nobody can tell me this is not what the arms really look like.

It is Day 2 of February and Day 2 of the 29 Faces challenge. I was supposed to paint today but did not! I don’t know why I have this awful block about painting, but I’ll get back to it one of these days. :)

Yesterday’s digging out, after the fifth largest snowfall in Chicago area history, is done.  It was thrilling, of course.
